ProductsProcess viscometers Process viscometers (see picture) measure dynamic viscosity (cP, mPas) continuously, in-line with the process. All joints in contact with the process are welded joints. The sensor has no mechanical through holes, gaskets, or connectors. A very small torsional oscillation is created with the magnet coils inside the sensor. The greater the viscosity of the substance being measured, the greater the power required to create a constant, steady movement. This is how the viscosity of the process substance is measured. The viscosity sensor can be mounted in any position in a vessel, reactor, or pipe. Measurement can be done in the place that is most advantageous to the process. For monitoring and adjustment purposes, the viscosity signal is transmitted continuously from the process itself. A viscometer is delivered calibrated to oil standards that do not depend on shear rates. On-site calibration is not required, and the sensor needs virtually no maintenance. The viscometer’s measuring range can be selected within 0.1 to 1,000,000 mPas. The temperature of the process can be up to 450 °C, and pressure up to 350 bar. The measuring sensor has a Pt100 temperature sensor, and the probe transmits the measuring point’s temperature signal in addition to the viscosity signal. Measuring applications:
