Training

Kouvo Automation supplies radiometric measurement equipment that uses sealed sources to Finland and to Finnish exporters. As stated in the new ST 1.8 guide of the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (STUK), there are additional training and competence requirements for the personnel of entities operating a radiation practice.

Kouvo Automation arranges supplementary training in the use of radiation. Examples include:

• Supplementary training for the radiation safety officer
• Training for other persons with responsibility in the field
• Training for operation and maintenance personnel
• Training sessions for educational institutions

The training is general in nature, and participants do not need to have advance knowledge of the subject. The training will consist of 3–10 lessons (depending on its scope and focus), with the additional option of self-study of radiation safety guides.

The training addresses legislation, permissions, and changes in applicable law. It will give participants a clear picture of the most important concepts of radiation physics and security, also increasing their knowledge of practical applications involving radiation.
